Color may be significant and if you wanted a funeral hearse like golf buggy, some people do, it would have to be painted black or it just wouldn't look right. If you fancy the look of a fire engine then red would be the right color.

You could plaster your customized golf cart with all sorts of accessories to give it the look you want but too much can make it look trashy. Care taken with adding the right amount of additional features to give the look of whatever it is you are trying to achieve will always result in a better appearance. You want the style of the vehicle you are trying to replicate not a cartoon version.
