How To Get A Beach Body

As spring turns into summer we start thinking about vacations by the beach but then we are horrified when we look in the mirror.  All winter your body has been covered up but what will it look like when all that protection is removed and all the world can see the lumps, bumps and wrinkles?

It can be a scary thought but stop simply thinking about it and take some action. You can do something about it. Now nothing I say is going to turn a 45 year old woman of significant size into a nubile 18 year old but you can make a difference. You can start now and start to see improvements in only a few weeks and if you stick with it you may find friends will hardly recognize you a year from now.

It is possible to improve your weight, bodyshape and your fitness but you must demonstrate a committment to stick with a program if you want to achieve your goals.

Exercise To Tone Up And Burn Fat

If you want to tone up your body you need to do more than simply hope it happens. Muscle tone is not generally considered to improve much by watching exercise videos while you snack on junk food. You need to get some exercise to get those muscles working and improve your blood flow.

You should not start out doing serious exercise if you have hardly done any exercise for years and you should consult your doctor to ask advice about starting an exercise plan and find out if there could be any risks associated with you exercising but in most cases doctors consider exercise to be a good thing when done sensibly and appropriately.

So start off in an appropriate way for your current level of fitness. If you have hardly done anything for years begin with some gentle walking, swimming or cycling. If you find this very easy and don't get out of breathe then build it up a little. Try going a little further or a little faster.

As your fitness level improves you can begin to think about gentle jogging or maybe going for a good hike at the weekends. You want to exercise your body but you should try to make it fun. This is not supposed to be a punishment program and you should enjoy the improved feeling of fitness and start to see some results in your muscle tone and shape.

The food you eat makes a huge contribution to the state of your health, your fitness and your body shape.

If you eat very little you may be depriving your body of the goodness it requires. If you eat foods lacking the goodness your body requires it doesn't matter how much of them you eat your body will still miss out on some of the essential life sustaining ingredients it needs.

If you eat a sensible amount of healthy food in a balanced diet you are probably helping your body to maintain a stable and healthy size and weight.

If you eat lots of junk food and too much food of all types you probably know that your body size and weight is increasing and you are potentially putting your health at risk.

So a balanced diet is very important and you should aim at eating plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit as part of that diet. Discus your diet with your doctor and ask advice on how well your diet matches with your lifestyle and your body's needs.
