Most of us need to get more exercise but many of us find it boring so if we could discover how to have fun exercising we might be more likely to get off our butts and do some exercise and fitness workouts.
Many pieces of exercise equipment are great for getting your body fit if you have the patience and determination to make regular use of them. Everyone is different and we all favor different types of exercise but if you are having a fitness workout on your own you need to be motivated and that is much easier if you enjoy the exercise workout you are doing.
Here I will attempt to provide some suggestions for some of the more enjoyable exercise equipment and activities to help encourage you, and me, to get out there and get those body parts working.
Exercise Doesn't Have To Be Boring
I got myself a rowing machine some years ago. I owned it for about three years and in that time I reckon I used it about five times total. I thought, and still think, that a rowing machine is a great bit of exercise equipment that can give most of your body a real good workout but I found it so boring.
I would sit down to start rowing and within a few minutes my brain was screaming at me to stop and do something more interesting instead. It was so repetitive with nothing to show for the effort yet I feel sure that if I had been rowing a real boat I would have actually enjoyed the experience and that made me realize that doing something real was much more fun than sitting indoors on an exercise machine. This led me to start thinking about some other alternative ways of exercising and having fun while doing it.
Cycling For Fun And Exercise
Cycling is said to be one of the most efficient forms of transport but it is also a great way of getting out in the fresh air and getting some exercise. The great thing about using a bicycle for fitness training is you don't have to support your own weight so it is not hard on the knees or other joints and you can work at your own pace.
If you want to take your time and gently cycle through the countryside you can but you can also buy a lightweight carbon fiber bicycle and work yourself really hard by pushing on and trying to go as fast as you can. Cycling is a great way of getting exercise but also a great way to enjoy the local scenery and have some fun.
Trampolines Put Bounce Back In Your Life
One thing I enjoyed doing at school was using the trampoline. It was a rare treat when we were allowed to at my school but I enjoyed it when we did. Back then trampolines were only seen in gymnasiums but these days they are a regular backyard feature but they are not just for kids.
Trampolining is great aerobic exercise and a lot of fun and I challenge anyone to use a trampoline and not smile. You just can't help it. Bouncing on a trampoline brings out the child in us all. You can give yourself a good workout in a relatively short period of time and regular use will help you improve your fitness significantly so don't just keep a trampoline for the kids, or grandkids, use it yourself and have some fun exercise.
Powerball Exercise Ball
Not all exercise and fitness training has to take place outdoors and the powerball gyroscopic exercise ball allows you to exercise indoors and even sitting in front of the tv.
These are more about improving muscle tone in your arms and shoulders than they are about improving general fitness but they are good fun and a great way to improve your upper body without having to have a serious workout.

Fun Exercise Dancing
Dancing is thought by many to be one of the most enjoyable ways to exercise while having fun. Most people enjoy dancing and it can be as active and energetic as you want it to be.
Slow old time dances or fast and very active modern dancing it is your choice but working up a sweat while having this much fun should be illegal, some say.
