Choosing names for babies can be a problem for some people while it is very easy for others. It may be that parents who find it easy have always known what they wanted to call their children while other parents have never thought about naming a baby before.

We often have nicknames for 'the bump' before our child is born but we should avoid using those terms after the birth of our child. Any name you choose now for your baby is liable to be be bent, twisted and corrupted when your child goes to school. Classmates can be unkind when they want to get at another child so having a name that can easily be made into something unpleasant can be a problem some children have to deal with.

Think about any rhyming words that might be used for any particular name you are thinking of and be very careful about what your child's initials could spell out or sound like. A lot of new parents never think about the initials of the names they give their baby but they can sometimes spell something odd or unpleasant.

There is no rule on choosing names for your baby and the parents should be the ones to decide. It is a big thing to do and it is only right that any name you consider gets the proper consideration it deserves.

Children born today could easily live to 100 years of age so spending a little time finding the right names for babies which will be their names for all those years would seem to be time well spent.
