Organized Life And Time Management
66Organize Your Life And Manage Your Time
In a busy world where time is always in short supply we need to run an organized life and manage our time to get the most out of it. Most of homes full of labor saving devices and gadgets and the problem for most of us is that we keep on adding to what we have both physically, with yet more gadgets and must have products and emotionally by taking on yet more responsibilities and stress inducing emotional problems.
There is nothing wrong with any of this, it is what we all do, but it can become a problem when we become so overwhelmed by everything that we find it difficult to manage everything we have going on in our lives and feel negative about ourselves because we feel we have failed to keep up to the standards we set ourselves.
What we need to do is to declutter our lives in every area. We need to simplify and organize our homes, our daily lives and even our relationships. No small task but we will attempt to set out some ideas to help guide you to a better and happier life.
Tidying Your Home
Lets start with the basics. Do you need all your stuff? How much stuff have you got that never gets used, never sees the light of day and simply fills up your home and your storage cabinets?
We all have clothes we haven't worn for years but we hesitate to throw them out because we either like them or we have some sort of emotional attachment to them. Maybe you wore that dress on a special day but the question you must ask yourself is if you will ever wear it again. If it is that special put it in a glass fronted display case and show it off. While it remains hiding in a closet it means very little and just uses up storage space.
We all have things that have a sentimental meaning and if you want to keep a memento of a special time in your life or a special day that's great. Just restrict yourself to one or two smaller items and put the other things in boxes in the basement or in the attic. They don't need to be readily available taking up valuable space in a cabinet or closet.

Declutter And Make Some Money
You may have doubts about getting rid of some of the stuff you have collected over the years but there may be a bright spot on the horizon of your uncluttered world. You could sell your stuff and make some money.
You could be surprised how much some of your secondhand stuff is worth. There are always stories going around of old Star Wars toys seeling for thousands and even empty product boxes can be worth money.
The easy way to sell your unwanted goods these days is by selling on EBay and thousands of people are doing this every day. You might even get a taste for it and start up a small business buying and selling stuff. So sort out some of those things that have been sitting around doing nothing for years and maybe make some money.
Declutter Your Closet
Everyone has a closet full of clothes but how many do we actually wear? How many pairs of shoes sit there year after year and never get worn? We need to establish some guidelines for the things that we need to keep, the things we want to keep and the things we really don't need.
Basic rule number one. If you haven't worn it for three years don't even stop and think about it. Throw it away or sell it right now.
Rule Number Two. If you haven't worn it in the last year ask yourself why that is and unless you can come up with a good reason why you really should keep it, throw it away.
Rule Number Three. If you have things in your closet that you have owned for a year but never, ever worn just throw them out and be done with it. It probably won't fit you if ever you do decide to wear it anyway.
Which brings us to the final rule, Number Four.
If you can't fit into it and you honestly can't ever see the day coming when you will fit into it in the next six months or so, throw it out. It will probably only be a negative influence anyway, reminding you of a time when you were younger, slimmer and fitter. We have to live life as it is today, not how we like to remember ourselves from years ago.
Once you have had a good clear-out you could get yourself a couple of closet organiser units to keep all those bits and pieces, that get scattered about, all together in one place in a tidy and practical way.
How To Organize Your Closet
How To Organize Your Jewelry Storage
There is a simple solution to the problem of clutter and chaos in your jewelry drawer. Get yourself a jewelry organizer. Jewelry storage systems come in several different types and styles at varying prices. The cheap and cheerful hanging jewelry storage systems offer excellent separation and storage of jewelry in a compact and convenient way. You could make your own as they are basically just a coat hanger supporting material with a lot of different pockets sewn into it. They can hang in a closet and keep all your jewelry clean, tidy and safe while remaining out of sight leaving your room clear and tidy.
Next we have the dresser-top jewelry storage boxes in various sizes and made in several different materials. Leather jewelry boxes offer a stylish and attractive look and come in a variety of subtle and exciting colors. Wooden jewelry boxes are classic in their looks though there are designs available with the modern clean cut look as well.
One of these counter-top jewelry storage boxes would suit the needs of most of us but if you have a very large collection of jewelry you might want to consider free standing jewelry boxes or wall cabinets. These are the ultimate in jewelry storage and organization and they will hold an enormous quantity of jewelry in a remarkably small area so if you have a big jewelry storage problem these where made for you.
Organize Your Life With Time Management
The idea behind time management is to make the most of the time available to achieve more and while we mostly think of time management being used in business to get the most out of their employees it also works for us at home.
We all have a limited amount of time available to do what we do at home and organizing your time in the most efficient way can save you minutes or hours every week. Time spent getting prepared to do a task is time wasted if you already partially did that task earlier in the day.
One example might be cleaning rooms with the hoover. If you go and get your cleaner and clean one room before putting it away again and finishing the room. Later in the day you go and get the vacuum cleaner out again to do another room. This means that twice you had to get the machine out and take it to where you were working before actually using it. If you had left it ready for use or done all the vacuum cleaning in one go, that time would have been saved the second time.
Organizing your time and managing your time with time management techniques is more about a way of thinking about jobs and tasks you have to do around the home. If you can train yourself to think in a logical way about what needs doing and how to sequence those tasks together you may find overlaps where time can be saved and the more of these you find the more productive you will be. By learning time management and how to apply it to your life means you will get more done in less time which leaves you extra time to either do more things or enjoy yourself more.

Organise Your Garage And Workshop
The garage is said to be the most disorganized place in the majority of homes across the country. We all have a tendency to just dump stuff in the garage and never get around to sorting things out properly.
If you use your garage as a workshop or you have a separate workshop, a properly designed wall mounted tool organizer system can make life a heck of a lot easier and doing jobs becomes a pleasure when you always know where your tools are. It can save you money because your tools are less likely to get damaged and you don't end up buying yet another hammer because you cannot find any of the others you previously purchased.
A good shelving system can give you space in your garage and enable you to find things when you need them. There are specialized systems for different types of products but a proper system of rack space and shelving will make the world of difference to most unsightly garage clutter and give you back the space you haven't seen for years.
