Trash Compactor
68The Purpose Of A Trash Compactor
There are very few tasks and processes that don't produce waste of some form or another and a trash compactor is designed to reduce that waste material to manageable proportions.
Trash compactors come in a range of different sized units from the small domestic trash compactor that might be fitted underneath your sink through to large industrial sized industrial trash compactors that can deal with enormous quantities of waste packaging and other materials.
The reason a waste compactor is so effective is that most waste materials contain a lot of air. The trash compactor squeezes that air out of the materials turning a product full of air into a dense and compact mass of materials that is easier to transport.
Trash Compactors Make For Easier Waste Management Handling
The type of trash compactor that most of us would be familiar with is the waste cardboard packaging compactor used by many store and malls to deal with their waste packaging. Any store supplying goods will have had those goods delivered in some form of outer packaging to protect the product and to package several of the products together.
For the products to be sold that packaging must be removed and it normally goes to waste. Over the course of a day one single store can have a huge quantity of this waste cardboard packaging that will take up a significant amount of space and since space costs money when we are talking about commercial premises they have as little wasted space as possible.
The waste packaging compactor can reduce the problem of waste cardboard to a far more manageable problem. Reducing a pile of waste cardboard boxes that is almost as large as a house to a cube of very dense and compact cardboard the size of a very small car. The benefits in saving space are clear.
There is another big benefit of compressed waste packaging compactors and that is in the environmental and financial costs of transporting this waste material to a recycling management companies premises or directly to a waste product processing plant that can use this compact material as a product in their production processes.
Compacted cardboard is a good example of the recycling of a waste product to produce more new cardboard for packaging and other purposes. This reduces the waste we throw away and is beneficial for us all through reduced cost cardboard packaging produced using the waste cardboard material and the environmental cost of cutting down more trees to produce the cardboard that almost always only gets thrown away after being used to protect the goods we buy while in the transport system.
We can save energy, avoid filling landfill sites with old cardboard that simply decomposes, cut down on the energy costs of converting trees into cardboard and avoid cutting down trees which can instead be used for more useful purposes. The trash compactor is a great benefit for us all.
