You Are What You Think - Who Do You Think You Are?

We all have an image of ourselves and how the world sees us and stress and depression make us feel less effective and less important even though this may not be true. Depression in particular can leave us feeling a burden on everyone else and can make it impossible to convince yourself that anybody else would care about you. You see yourself as some sort of useless XXX who is draining your friends and family of all their energy in an attempt to boost your own.

Most of us are probably wrong, most of the time about how others see us. The image we have in our heads of how others see us is often very different to what they actually think but does it actually matter?

It clearly depends on what aspect of your personality you are thinking of. If you are a successful business person then most people would see you as a successful business person but they may also see you as ruthless, cold hearted and self centered. On the other hand they may see you as a caring individual who has demonstrated that you don't have to be cold and ruthless to be successful. It depends on how you behave and what you do in your dealings with people you meet and people you work with.

The person these other people see is the person you portray yourself as. You may be a quivering wreck inside. Full of self doubt and always expecting the worst but if you behave in a way that suggests you are confident and successful that is how people will view you.

You are the person you think you are providing you act out the way that this person would behave. Nobody would know any different.

Think Positive - Be Positive

There is a famous saying that you should, 'Think Positive' and it does work. People in all walks of life use this tequnique every day. That person that upset you yesterday with their overbearing attitude may be very unsure of themseves inside but by thinking positively and acting as though they are very sure of themselves you assume that they really are.

You are what you think and while you may not be able to become a millionaire overnight just by thinking about it they do say, and I agree, that by thinking yourself into a situation it focuses your mind and moves you in that direction.


Be What You Want To Be

If you live your life thinking you are a loser you will most likely be a loser. If you think you are a winner then you are more likely to be a winner. What we focus on and how we see ourselves directs us where we go.

Imagine you are driving your car and you keep looking to the left. The result will be that you tend to steer towards the left. Life can be like that too. If you focus on being the person you want to be then you will move towards being that person. Your life is likely to be very different because you will move in a different direction towards the life you would like to enjoy.

We cannot change the world we live in but we can change the way we approach it and how we experience and interpret it as we go through life.The more you think like the person you want to be, the more opportunities you will discover and you will be more likely to take advantage of those situations instead of just letting them pass you by wishing you were good enough to be able to fulfill your dreams.

Think of yourself as the person you want to be and you may find a whole new world of opportunity opens up before you and you will be able to enjoy the benefits that brings.
